I can’t believe it is almost October. It has been a long unusually dry summer with some of the hottest temps on record here in NC. The heat has finally let up and it’s beginning to look like we are going to have a pleasant fall season. We really need some rain though.
Because of the dry weather, I have still been walking 2 miles at night, roughly 5 nights per week. Walking has firmed up the bottom half of my legs but other than that, I can’t really see any physical improvements. They say walking is really beneficial to your heart, arteries, blood vessels. I know it has helped me to not be stiff upon arising from my seat or getting out of bed after a few hours.
What did I do this summer? Well…I rode down to the beach on the weekends I was off work. I did some shopping and laying out. Not much else. I still have not met a man and know that I will never meet one online. I realize I am too picky and chemistry is not something I seem to be able to find with a man. The chemistry I thought I had with my husband, just turned out to be a science project gone wrong. Oh well, I have decided to just not even think about it. If my dream man happens along, it will probably be by accident anyway.
Well, my bad, I have been busy with other things and have not posted in my blog lately. A friend gave me a nudge that it was time to answer the all important question of whether or not “Randy” made it on to Hollywood. I am sorry to report that after singing in front of Randy, Paula and Simon our hometown guy didn’t make the cut. Apparently his style was a little too heavy metal, gothic for the average American viewer. Oh well, maybe he can try again next year with a different approach. I hear he really is a good singer.
I got a chance to see the American Idols in concert at the Greensboro NC coliseum last week and I must say I really enjoyed it. Everyone did really well. I especially like the beat box performance between Blake and Chris Richardson. These are two very talented guys. I can’t wait for the new season to start in January. I will definitely be getting tickets to that American Idol tour also.
I’m excited! I have a co-worker, who has a grandson, who just may be our next American Idol or at least get to Hollywood! I can’t say anything yet, but I hope it’s true! Bucky Covington grew up around this area and to think that we may have another Idol from here that we can all root for, is just great! I’ll keep you posted when it’s official!
I would like to know if there is anyone out there in the blogosphere who has ordered the new Infinity Razor they have been advertising on TV. I am very interested in this razor and would love to purchase one. If there is one drawback to this long hot summer we are having, it is the fact that I need to shave my legs every single day in order to keep them smooth and sleek while wearing my capri’s, skirts and dresses this summer. It is a daunting task, but one that must be performed. The cost of razor blades is out of this world. The kind I use are $8.00 for a 4 pack of blades! This can get pretty expensive if you shave every day like I do. I can’t image how costly it must be for the guys! Well, the Infinity Razor may just be the answer to our prayers! The Infinity Razor comes with a Lifetime Replacement Guarantee - which means if you ever think it is not shaving you as close as it should, send it back, and they will send you a replacement. You can try it free for 30 days and if it is not the greatest razor you’ve ever used, you can send it back, and they will refund the purchase price PLUS . The Infinity Razor lasts a lifetime. You may never buy replacement blades again. Infinity is the most durable razor, which shaves kissably smooth, and gives a close shave – shave after shave — guaranteed. If your Infinity Razor ever feels dull, simply return it for a free replacement infinity razor. Now that sounds like a deal too good to pass up! I am going to order this Infinity Razor today. Guys these blades are carbon steel, so they are designed to handle your tough facial hair too!
Labor Day is upon us and here in the ‘burg it is still dry and hot. Temps are going to be in the 90’s all week long! Most people around here are ready for fall except me. I love it!
We do need some rain though…
Today is my Mom and Dad’s 60th Wedding Anniversary. This is called the Diamond Anniversary. Well unfortunately they didn’t get any diamonds for their anniversary but I did get them a personalized DVD with pictures commemorating their 60 years together and My sister and I took them out for supper and gave them some spending money to enjoy. I would have liked to have done more for them for all they’ve done for me over the years, but as usual I am broke. I did buy them a lottery ticket using their anniversary dates and ages but that didn’t pan out.
They were recognized at their church with an anniversary cake and a basket of mums. That’s a pretty proud moment to have endured 60 years of marriage. Not many people make it to their 60th wedding anniversary. I know I never will.
I need to move to another county or state. My car taxes are due today. The taxes on my 2005 Honda Accord EX are 278.00. What a freaking rip off. This is a lease car too. February ‘08 I will have to turn this car in and purchase or lease a new one. I will probably get something cheaper next time. Money is pretty tight when you are trying to make it on your own. I like Honda Cars because they are very reliable and reliability is a number one priority for me now. Maybe I will look into getting a Civic. I don’t need a big car for just myself anyway. When you lease a car, you also have to take out the maximum insurance coverage on it also. My car insurance payments, with no points, tickets etc. is $88.02 per month. Maybe I just need to hire a taxi every week to drive me back and forth to work. It may be cheaper…….
Today was the day I was supposed to go stay in Virginia and take one of those time share tours but I cancelled. I didn’t have anyone to go with me and so I felt like it was just a waste of my time anyway. I just can’t see paying every month on something I would only be able to visit a couple times a year.
Sunday, I attended a surprise birthday pool party for one of our coworkers, John, which was hosted by his wife, Pam, (also one of my coworkers) at their house. John turned 40 this weekend and everyone brought gag gifts and we ate pizza, cake and watched a special video commemorating his 40 years on this planet. The temperature outside was a whopping 102 degrees with no rain in site. There was a small breeze blowing but it was a warm breeze. Everyone huddle near the umbrella and tent for most of the day. I decided I would just stay in the pool most of the day since I had been to the beach the day before and my skin was already a little parched. The pool was very refreshing. Suzie’s 10 year old daughter came and she and I had a blast playing in the pool. We slid down the slide together, dived off the side and I rode her around on my shoulders in the water. Big mistake! While we were playing, I felt something in my neck and shoulders kinda tear. I knew that I was gonna be paying for that later, and I did. That night I tried this new sample of Freeze It I had. FREEZE IT is a mentholated pain relief gel.

I rubbed it on my neck and shoulders and it started working immediately to relieve the stiffness I was feeling in that area. FREEZE IT has a scent similar to other mentholated rubs but the scent vanishes right after you apply it. I put some more on the next morning at work and no one could even smell it on me. It is grease less and stainless so I didn’t have to worry about it messing up my shirt either. When you apply it, you can feel it going to work immediately freezing and numbing the painful area. If I hadn’t had this gel to rub on my aching muscles, I may have had to lay out of work Monday. I could hard turn my head I was so stiff and sore. The FREEZE IT really worked to ease my painful joints. Freeze It comes in two sizes and applications, a 3-oz. Roll-On and 4-oz. Tube. The next time you are out horsing around and forget how old you really are (like I did) I recommend the FREEZE IT pain relief gel. It’s cheaper than the leading brands of pain relief gel too.

It is hot as a mofo here in the ‘burg this week. Temperatures are in the 100’s. It is about 104 outside right now. When people from up north move here they complain when it gets about 85 or 90. Then, when it gets to be above 100, like it is this week, they understand us when we say “aw 90 isn’t all that hot!” I love the hot weather, but when the scenario plays out like what we are experiencing today with temps in the 100’s and no wind blowing and it hasn’t rained in about a month or two and it is still 90 at 9pm and 78 degrees at 7:15 in the morning then it is definitely hot! If you stay outside in the heat for very long, it will make you nauseous. The weather channel calls for storms every evening but we haven’t had any yet. You can bet when we do have a storm, it is gonna be a doozy! It has been so hot this week, I haven’t even had to run my space heater in the cubicle at work like I normally do. The air conditioner can’t even keep up with the heat wave!
